28 June Visit to Mappa Mundi, Hereford
28 June Visit to Mappa Mundi, Hereford Our visit starts with a talk by our President, Peter Barber, about the map exhibition in College Hall called “Strangers” – which looks at the “monsters” on the Mappa Mundi. After visiting the exhibition we then visit the Mappa Mundi and the Cathedral’s Chained Library Exhibition, and have a conducted tour of the Cathedral; a light lunch will also be served.
Please meet at the eastern end of the Cathedral near the car park (which is free to visitors) at 9.50am; the finishing time will be 14.00-14.10. The cost is £45 to cover the various entrance fees and the light lunch.
Numbers are limited so please book early.
Given the early start time, you may wish to consider staying overnight beforehand.
