The Malcolm Young Lecture

Our speaker this year will be Mario Cams, Asst. Professor at the University of Macao/China  (studied at the Royal University of Leuven (Louvain) in Belgium, on the Novus Atlas Sinensis (1655): The Story Behind Europe’s First Atlas of East Asia.  The talk will look at just how the Atlas Sinensis by Blaeu/Martini came about.

IMCoS Annual Dinner

The Annual Dinner takes place after the Malcolm Young Lecture, at The Civil Service Club, 13-15 Great Scotland Yard, London SW1A 2HJ.

The programme for the evening is:

6:20pm  Champagne Reception in the Elizabethan Room

7pm  The Malcolm Young Lecture, by Mario Cams

8pm  Dinner, followed by presentation of the Helen Wallis / IMCoS Award.

Dress code: Jacket and tie, no jeans.

IMCoS Annual General Meeting

10am (doors open at 9:30am) in The Lowther Room, The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AR.

The AGM lasts around one hour, and then from 12 noon there is the 2019 London Map Fair in the same building.
