The International Map Collectors’ Society (IMCoS) is made up of an informal group of map enthusiasts from all parts of the globe. It is an interesting mix of map collectors, dealers in maps and books, archivists and librarians, academics and writers. Our common thread is that we are People Who Love Early Maps. Despite this being our journal´s logo we are also open to enthusiasts of modern-day cartography. So, why not join us?

Please note:

  • The IMCoS website was updated and went on-line as of 5 December 2011.
  • The earlier methods of payment and subscription were altered as of that date. 
  • Your previous log-in name and membership number have been discontinued.
  • Current members will have received a new User Name and Password by E-mail.
  • Use these new details the first time you log on after December 5th 2011.
  • You can change your Password by editing your account on the new website. 
  • Current members who did not receive a new User Name and Password, but do have an E-mail address, should mail their E-mail address to the Financial Secretariat (see above). The Financial Secretariat will add this E-mail address to administration. The new username and password will be sent to this E-mail address.
  • Members without access to an E-mail address are requested to contact the Financial Secretariat (see above)
  • The new website will use a new Paypal account facilitating payment. Payment by Credit Card is still possible. Payment off-line can also be arranged.
  • In order to facilitate transition to the new website, you are kindly requested to fill out the relevant sections in full. Renewals will be made easier next time your subscription is due.

Membership Subscription fees:

Standard one year membership £ 45
Premium three year membership £ 120
Annual Junior (under 25 or in full time education) £ 22.50 (50% of the annual rate)

  • Online payment is secure.
  • Subscriptions are normally non-refundable; any exceptions would be at the discretion of the IMCoS Executive Committee.
  • IMCoS are unfortunately unable to offer dollar rates or payment by USD cheques due to excessive bank charges; payment by credit card from abroad is welcomed.
