IMCoS June Weekend with the London Map Fair

Annual Dinner   -   AGM   -   London Map Fair

Final arrangements have been made concerning the Annual Dinner to be held on Friday, June 7th, 2013. We look forward to welcoming members to our annual dinner and Malcolm Young Lecture, both of which will to be held in the Eastwood Room of the Farmers’ Club, 3 Whitehall Court, London SW1A 2HL. The nearest underground station is Embankment which is a short walk away from the club.

Programme:     6.20 pm    Meet for a drink in the bar

                        7pm        An inspiring lecture by Mike Parker, author of the recently published book Map Addict. The title of his illustrated lecture is “We’re all Map Addicts Now!”. This promises to be both amusing and stimulating.

                       7.45 pm    A three-course meal will be served. This will be followed by presentation of the IMCoS/Helen Wallis Award. The citation will be given by Tony Campbell, former Map Librarian at The British Library.

The charge for the evening will be £50 which includes the lecture (see registration leaflet enclosed with the latest issue of the Journal).

Our AGM will be held in the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AR. Members are welcome but please fill in the form enclosed with the latest issue of the Journal so that we know who will be attending. The London Map Fair is being held at the RGS over the weekend and IMCoS will be having a stand selling subscriptions and books about maps. London Map Fair

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June 2013

The London Map Fair is one of the largest and most important of its kind. IMCoS have supported a map fair in London for many years and we are also very grateful for the dealers´ support of IMCoS over the last years. The IMCoS AGM and Annual Dinner are timed to coincide with this prestigious event. The next London Map Fair will take place in 2013 once again at
